The audience's perspective opened a door. A man fell off the door, slid down two flights of stairs, and died when he hit the bottom. Then comes the nearly 100 minute flashback, which tells the story of a veteran who returns from war exhausted and disillusioned, only to discover that the girl he loves is lying to him about her relationship with another man who is sadistic, boastful, and mocking.
